Last week we celebrated Zack's 11th birthday.
Every year I think "wow, where has the time gone?" and this year is no different. It's crazy how fast time flies. Usually it completely depresses me, I hate getting older and I don't want my kids to grow up. But the reality is, we are aging every day and the kids HAVE to grow up. I absolutely
LOVE watching my kids grow and learn. It's exciting to see how much they have progressed over the years. Of course, I still wish time would slow down!
This year Zack decided to have a movie theatre themed birthday party with his friends. We had already seen all the good movies playing in the theatres, so we decided to have it in our basement. He invited a few friends from school and from his basketball team and watched "Open Season 3."
We decorated with a popcorn theme and even had a homemade cake (why does he do this to me???!!!) decorated like popcorn! I thought it looked awful, but Zack LOVED it.
He received lots of great gifts, including more of his FAVORITE toys, NERF guns, which led to yet another NERF war through the house. Ahhhh!!!! Honestly, I wasn't sure I was going to survive that last hour. Luckily, the dog and I got out alive AND the house was still standing!!!

Sunday we celebrated yet again, this time with a family party. We were unsure if anyone would make it up due to a snow storm during the night, but thankfully most were able to make it.
A few weeeks before the party I had asked Zack what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday. His reply was "Oh, mom, all I think about is Wendy's carrot cake. That's ALL I want for my birthday!"
Wendy is one of my dearest friends and former neighbor from Sandy, and oh boy can she bake! She has been told on many occasions to open a bakery and I sure wish she would! Well, I HAD to call her to put in Zack's birthday request. She was so excited to make his cake and it turned out
DELICIOUS!!! (My mouth is watering for it now. Mmmmm.......)
Again, he received lots of great gifts, and lots of MONEY, his favorite! But spending time with his cousins was the best part of the day. Of course another NERF war was had!!!
I am so proud of the young man my little bug has become. I love this kid with my heart and soul. His beautiful eyes and freckle nose melt my heart daily. I thank God everyday for trusting me to be his mommy.
LOVE YOU BUG!!! XOXOXOXO
